LEPTA SHIPPING CO., LTD. ordered SNo.710, 40,000 DWT type bulk carrier, named “KITAKAMI RIVER” and safely delivered to the owner on April 26, 2024. The vessel sailed out to Yeosu, South Korea for the first cargo. The Kitakami River is one of the largest rivers in the Tohoku region that flows north-south through our Kuji Block Works located Iwate Prefecture and all yard employees completed the vessel with familiarity.

The ceremony was held under spring cherry blossom season in the northern Japan. We, shipyard would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Japanese owner and charterers for coming to Hachinohe, which was a great success.

M/V “KITAKAMI RIVER” is the sixth in series of 40,000DWT type bulk carriers project and is equipped with SOx scrubber for environmental friendliness, and is a state-of-the-art vessel equipped with M0 that satisfies Phase 3 of the new ship fuel consumption regulations (EEDI regulations). Furthermore, the log stanchions are installed at both side of the deck and are characterized by the wide range capability for various dry cargoes.

We, shipyard hope M/V “KITAKAMI RIVER” will be a treasured vessel for all concerned parties under the current positive maritime markets. We will keep continue to make efforts to provide high-quality merchant vessels for owners and operators.
